All about that space
21 May 2026
Size matters. There, we said it.
When it comes to sending and collecting parcels, picking the right locker compartment size is kind of a big deal - and yet it's one of those things nobody really talks about. Until now.*
Consider this your official guide to locker compartment sizes. Riveting stuff. Genuinely.
*they probably did but I’m just trying to be dramatic.
The locker lineup
Our lockers come in four sizes (think of them as the Goldilocks of parcel storage - one of them is just right for you):
Extra Small (4cm x 23cm x 40cm) Right, so this one is mini. We're talking "fits in your bag" territory. If you're sending or collecting an envelope or something bite-sized - a birthday card, a spare key, a single sock (we've all been there) - XS is your best mate. Just a heads up: not all of our lockers have XS compartments, so check the app before you make the trek.
Small (8cm x 38cm x 64cm) The Small compartment is the unsung hero of the locker world. Perfect for sunglasses, small accessories, or anything that could technically live in a shoebox but doesn't quite need the full shoebox experience. A vibe.
Medium (19cm x 38cm x 64cm) Now we're getting somewhere. Shoes? Yes. A cookbook you impulse-bought at 11pm? Absolutely. A handbag that was "definitely on sale"? 100%. Medium is the most versatile of the bunch, and honestly, it carries that title with grace.
Large (41cm x 38cm x 64cm) The Large compartment does not mess around. Boots, sports equipment, bulky items that you ordered during a particularly optimistic gym phase - it's all welcome here. If it's big, chunky, or basically a small pet (please don't send a small pet), Large has got you.
"But what if I picked the wrong size?"
Deep breaths. It happens to the best of us.
If you rock up to a locker and the compartment you selected is looking a little too big - or your parcel is not going anywhere near that opening - don't force it. We mean this sincerely. No shoving, squishing, or creative folding.
Here's what to do instead:
- Close the compartment door without putting your parcel inside
- Tap 'My parcel doesn't fit' on the locker screen
- Choose a different compartment size - easy as that
Yes, that's it. The locker screen is on your side.
What if you've already bought a label?
Slightly different process, but nothing you can't handle.
If you grabbed a label from InPost and it's the wrong size, you'll need to cancel it - either through the InPost app or via our contact form - and then get a new one with the correct size.
A gentle reminder: once you've got your label, you've got 30 days to drop your parcel off at any InPost locker, whenever suits you. So no rush, no stress - just make sure the compartment you're aiming for can actually fit what you're sending.
Final thought
Picking the right size isn't just good manners - it means a smoother drop-off, a happier parcel, and absolutely zero awkward locker wrestling. And honestly? That's the kind of locker life we're all here for.
Not sure which size you need? When in doubt, measure your parcel before you buy your label here. Future you will be very pleased.
