The hottest trends in 2023

Colour trends, Gorpcore and cargo pants - the hot trends for 2023.
See ya, 2022! Another year has whizzed by, and whether you found it good or bad, it’s time to embrace a new one. We don’t know about you, but we are ready to turn our backs on the cold, and start daydreaming of morning spring walks and beach days with friends. So close, yet so far…
But before we can get excited for those times, though, some like to get thinking about resolutions for 2023. Whether it’s to take up a new skill, or perfect a sport you’ve never tried before, January is often a good place to begin. And what better way to get a head start than to take a look at some of the retail trends predicted to take over the nation?
Without further ado, here are five retail trends to look out for in 2023:
- Purple and yellow are the ‘it girls’ this year. It’s always fun to have a little pop of colour in your life (even if you’re usually a monochrome kind of person), so look out for flairs of violet and bright yellow if you’re wanting to turn some heads.
- Fringe is making a massive return! Although it can sometimes bring connotations of cowboys and questionable fashion choices from years past, keep your eyes peeled for nice fringed accessories to make you stand out from the crowd.
- Let’s talk cargo pants. Cargo has been back on the radar for a little while now, but it shows no sign of going away anytime soon. Embrace the baggy lifestyle and make sure you’ve got at least one trusty pair of cargo trousers in the wardrobe.
- Gorpcore, looks like it’s also here to stay. A fusion of practicality meeting fashion, gorpcore allows one to dress nicely and stay warm, incorporating different items of outerwear. Perfect for those early 2023 months, if you ask us.
- Lace seems to have taken the fancy of many designers on the runway in recent months. Perhaps you might want to get thinking about how you can incorporate the fabric over outfits you already own, or go out and buy a cool lacy item.
