What ya waiting for?

27 Apr 2026

Your parcel is sitting in an InPost Locker, it's safe, it's secure, and it's basically calling your name. So - what ya waiting for? 📦

When a delivery lands in an InPost Locker near you, you've got 3 days to go and grab it. That's 72 hours of complete flexibility, no delivery windows, no waiting in, no rushing home from work. Just you, your collection code, and a locker that's open around the clock.

But life moves fast, and those 3 days can sneak up on you. Here's everything you need to know to make sure your parcel doesn't end up going back where it came from.

Why the 3-day window?

InPost Lockers are busy places. With hundreds of thousands of customers sending and receiving parcels across the UK every day, we need to keep things moving so there's always a locker available when someone needs one. The 3-day collection window helps us do exactly that - keeping the network running smoothly for everyone.

Think of it less as a deadline and more as a gentle nudge. Your parcel's ready and waiting. Go get it. 💛

Can't make it? Send a mate.

This is the bit people don't always realise - you don't have to collect your parcel yourself.

If you're away, snowed under at work, or just really not feeling a locker run, you can share your collection code with a friend or family member and they can pick it up for you. Same QR code, different human. Job done.

It's honestly one of the handiest things about InPost Locker delivery. As long as you share your collection details with someone you trust, the locker doesn't mind who shows up.

Can you get more time?

We know it'd be great to say yes - and we're working on it. But right now, InPost isn't able to extend the collection window on individual parcels. Our courier partners visit the lockers daily, which means we can't hold things back on a parcel-by-parcel basis.

So if time's running out, your best move is to share that code sharpish.

What happens if the deadline passes?

If the 3 days are up and nobody's collected, your parcel will be removed from the locker and returned to the sender. From there, you'd need to get in touch with the retailer directly to arrange a redelivery or a refund - and unfortunately, that's outside of InPost's hands.

But don't give up just yet. If your 72 hours have passed and you can still get to the locker quickly, it's worth heading over - your parcel will still be there until our courier swings by to collect it. So if you can beat the courier, you can still beat the clock. ⏱️

It's a faff that's very easy to avoid, so it's worth staying on top of it.
