The 7 Deadly Sins of shipping on Vinted
13 Aug 2024
We see and hear you Vinted sellers, and today we’re here to talk you through some easy mistakes that could put your parcel’s safety at risk. We’re committed to making sure that your parcels end up at the correct destinations so please make sure you watch out for these pitfalls.
The 7 Deadly Sins of Shipping on Vinted
1. Confusing parcels at the lockers
If you’re sending multiple parcels with digital codes, we highly recommend writing or drawing on them to make sure you know which is which. We have also introduced an app feature which means you can give your parcels nicknames to help with identification.
2. Misprinted labels
For parcels being delivered to someone’s house, you’ve got one option – print a label at home and attach it to the parcel. Please note that these labels must be printed in the original size on plain A4 white paper (please don’t use mini printers bought on the TikTok shop).
Don’t have a printer? You can turn off “InPost Home Delivery” in the Vinted app. Head to profile > settings > postage. You will get the choice of a printable or digital label when shipping to any of our lockers or shops, but for home deliveries you will need to print a label.
3. Putting multiple parcels in a single compartment
Please remember that one parcel = one code = one compartment. Each parcel has its own unique code to get it to the correct destination so please use separate compartments if you’re sending multiple parcels.
4. Badly packaged parcels
Our couriers won’t be able to deliver anything that isn’t up to our standards, read here for our full list of packaging requirements or check out our top tips. It's important that your parcels are properly packaged to keep them from being damaged. Parcels are often sorted by machines and can travel a long distance on automated belts so please ensure your items are wrapped up and safely packaged.
5. Jamming parcels into the lockers
Please use the smallest compartment free at the lockers without having to force your parcel in. It’s okay to use a larger compartment if no others are available but please don’t jam into our smaller sizes as this could mean your parcel gets stuck.
6. Out of sight out of mind
We know the job is done once your parcel is in the locker or shop, but keep an eye on where your parcels are by tracking it through the app. Remember - buyers have 3 days to pick up or it will be sent back to you, so you might need to message them directly on Vinted (we also send reminders)!
7. Heading to full lockers
InPost is installing more lockers every week, and we're actively working to add more locations near you. While we’re bringing you more lockers, we’re asking all InPostees to check for free spaces before you head to the lockers. You can check for available compartments in our app or see what’s free on our website here before making your drop-off.
