Power to the parcels
If you’re new to the idea of sending a parcel without printing a label, don’t worry!
Your QR Code: all you need to send
When you send a parcel with InPost, your QR code does all the hard work.
Think of it as your parcel’s passport. It contains all the important details - who you are, what you’re sending, and where it’s going.
At an InPost Locker, simply:
- Scan your QR code
- Tap the size compartment you need (you don't need to do this if you're using our Send service)
- Open sesame, your locker door will unlock
- Drop off your parcel
- Done - that's it
No printing. No paperwork. Just scan, drop, close the door, and you’re done.
Sending from an InPost Shop
Using an InPost Shop is just as simple.
All you need to do is:
Hand your parcel to the shopkeeper
Show them your QR code
They’ll scan the code, print a small temporary label with a barcode and MTL number, and check your parcel into the system.
From there:
Our courier collects the parcels
Everything is taken to the depot
The final destination label is added
Easy, seamless, and still completely print-free for you.
But wait… what about labels?
Good question - you will still spot a label on your parcel during its journey.
Here’s why:
When our courier collects your parcel from the locker, they attach a small temporary label. This label includes:
A barcode
An MTL number, which helps us track your parcel as it moves through our network
Once your parcel arrives at one of our depots, that temporary barcode is scanned and replaced with the final destination label. All the printing happens on our side - so you don’t have to lift a finger.
Sending multiple parcels?
If you’re on a parcel mission and juggling multiple parcels in one go, we highly recommend writing your 9-digit drop-off code directly onto your parcels (sometimes it’s called a send code). Of course, you don’t have to! It’s just a super handy way to make sure that you scan in the right parcel to the correct compartment.
You can find this code below your QR code on the email we send you, or if you have the app it will be in the “Sending” tab.
Another handy tip, you can add a nickname to each of your parcels inside our app - and don't worry, only you'll be able to see these names.

First, check you’re in the right place
Make sure you’re at the correct InPost location for what you’re trying to do.
- Sending a parcel (drop-off): You can use any InPost Locker or InPost Shop to drop off your parcel.
- Collecting a parcel (pick-up): You’ll need to go to the specific locker or shop listed in your confirmation email or in the InPost App.
If you're at an InPost Locker
Sending a parcel:
- Turn up your phone screen brightness
- Hold your phone around 15cm from the scanner
- Try a slight angle or wiggle
If it still won’t scan, you can manually enter your tracking number using the keypad.
Collecting a parcel: If the locker screen isn’t responding or the code won’t scan, the easiest option is to use the InPost App’s remote opening feature - this lets you open your locker without scanning anything.
Evri parcels: From 1 March 2025, InPost Lockers no longer accept Evri parcels.
Returning
Returns parcels should be back with the retailer within 5 working days, safe and sound. But some stores may take a little bit longer to let you know they’ve got it and process your return. Feel free to get in touch with them if you’ve got any questions about your refund.
Sending
If you're sending a parcel to an InPost Locker or Shop then it should arrive within 3 working days. If you're sending a parcel to a home address then it should arrive within 4 working days. You can keep an eye on your parcel's journey using our handy tracking page.
Collecting
Delivery time will vary depending on which store you've bought from. Keep tabs on your parcel's progress by downloading the app.
Marketplace & Returns parcels The locker will give you the option to select your compartment size on the screen. Please pop your parcel in the smallest compartment size available that your parcel comfortably fits in - never force it in! If only medium or large ones are free, no worries - you can use one of those without any extra charges. Just check the app to see what's available.
Sending with the InPost app If you've bought a digital label from the InPost app you will have already chosen your compartment size. This means the compartment will open right away, and you won't be able to change it at the locker. If you've picked a parcel that's too small, you'll need to cancel your label in the app and purchase a new one.
If the compartment size you selected is too small, please don't force your parcel to fit.
Simply close the compartment door without placing your parcel inside and tap 'My parcel doesn't fit' on the locker screen. If you're sending a Vinted parcel or a Return, you’ll then be able to choose a different compartment size on the screen. If you've bought a label from the InPost app, then you'll need to cancel it through the app and purchase a new one with the correct size.
Our locker sizes are:
- Extra small - 4cm x 23cm x40cm
- Small - 8cm x 38cm x 64cm
- Medium - 19cm x 38cm x 64cm
- Large - 41cm x 38cm x 64cm
The staff member won't hand you a proof of postage receipt. If we've got your email address, then we'll automatically send you an email confirming you've dropped the parcel off. If we don't have your email, then you can request a drop-off receipt here - all you need is your parcel number.
